As you might have read (below) the wifey was hosting a party and our oldest had a softball game smack in the middle of the twin's nap time...but I had to keep the kids out of the house. So, we all went. The weather was AMAZING, which required multiple sunscreen applications on the kids. With one red head and one blondie (both fair skinned) we had to bathe in sunscreen.
We finally arrived at the middle school and ate the packed lunch- left over pizza (homemade) for me and PB&J for the kids. Plus pretzels and fruit for the lot of us. We set up all of our stuff and it was still only 1 (game started at 2). Nap time is 1:30, so I was still in the clear at this point. We played and made bubbles. We took a little car ride until 2:15 and made our way back to our chairs. This is when it really started to fall apart. Sunscreen made it into one of the girl's eye (ouchie), runny noses and watery eyes, no nap and chaos set in. The game went on and on and on. I was able to watch maybe 5-10% of the happenings. At one point, one of our twins went up to a (stranger) lady and wanted up, she clearly was desperate. Finally the game ended at 4:45- we lost but played hard (from what I saw). And I carried a chair, diaper bag, 2 balls, one kid on my shoulders and one in my arm. I looked like one man circus. But, we made it to the van in one piece. And then we made it home in one piece. We didn't look too pretty, the kids were a mess!
Spent a few putting the house back together from the party (we took out all of the stuff in our down stairs to put up 5 tables and 20 chairs). And then it was time for dinner and bath...
What today did not include was my run. From the time I woke up to the time I left with the kids for softball I was cleaning the house up, moving couches out, etc...I did not sit down for a moment! So, tomorrow we have a hike planned but if the kiddos still look a mess then we may be keeping them in and I will go running. 10K don't think I have forgotten about you.
For now, I'm sipping some water and watching The Little Couple. And being thankful for my amazing wife- she is always taking our kids out and about for hours...today I had them for half the day and feel sooooo tired.

This is for our children...their children...and their children. This is for our family...this is for us!
Originally, this blog was my wife's, but I stole it since she stopped using it. So, now it will be a place for both of us to write and journal our experiences during this journey of getting healthy. For the both of us its more than just losing weight. Yes, we both want to be thin, but more importantly we want to be around for eachother and our children for a long, long time. We want t show our children that it just isn't okay to treat what He gave us so poorly...
We have stopped making excuses and are ready to face the challenge...are you?
