This is for our children...their children...and their children. This is for our family...this is for us!
Originally, this blog was my wife's, but I stole it since she stopped using it. So, now it will be a place for both of us to write and journal our experiences during this journey of getting healthy. For the both of us its more than just losing weight. Yes, we both want to be thin, but more importantly we want to be around for eachother and our children for a long, long time. We want t show our children that it just isn't okay to treat what He gave us so poorly...
We have stopped making excuses and are ready to face the challenge...are you?

Busy Days Ahead

Yep, just as the title says- Jessica's sister, Kayla, is getting married this Sunday and her grandparents came in today. They are staying with Jessica's mom and dad so we will probably be spending every spare moment there.  The kids really, really enjoyed seeing their great grandma and papa today. Adey was glued to her papa and he was awesome and read books to the both of them all night.
My day started very early- up before 6 and out the door by 6:15 to hit the gym. 5 miles plus triceps and abs. I am actually starting to think 5 miles isn't so bad. Even though I wanted to stop when I started, I didn't look down for the first 2.5 miles.  I finished in 47 minutes on a 2% incline. Then I headed over for the free weights and worked myself to failure! I had to run back home because for a minute we thought the grands were coming to our house- which was clean but not clean if you know what I mean. Spend 30 minutes getting those last few things cleaned up at the house. Then it was off to work.
Work has been crazy, crazy- I am covering for a co-worker who is on vacation this week, plus doing all of the residential stuff because our new team member doesn't start until June 11th. I will be so happy when she starts. The residential portion is a full time job by itself, plus my duties!
On a different note, Jessica has taken a break from working out. She is going to continue to eat right but is hoping a break from working out will re-jumpstart some weight loss. She suggested I do the same since I have only lost 5 lbs in the last 30 days, but since I have started to do weight/strength training, I guess I have to get use to not seeing the lbs go down. Not that I want them to go up- but perhaps I wont be going anywhere except less body fat. Hum, now that I think about that I'm not sure if I am really okay with it. I guess I'll just have to think on it.
It's going to be hard to get in all my workouts this week due to the busy schedule, but even if I have to get up at the 'crack-o-dawn' then I will.
