If you read from yesterday, you might remember that I was super excited about banana and almond milk today. So, I woke up and made a banana and almond milk smoothie (frozen bananas). It was delicious, seriously! But about 10 minutes later I was running to the toilet and it all came out. Hum, maybe banana/almond milk combo wasn't a good idea. I ate two pieces of turkey bacon after that and headed to the gym. Hit the elliptical for 45 minutes and burned 750 calories (according to the watch). Drank my protein shake and ate a banana. My stomach handled that banana much better...All in all today I ate 8 bananas and had 10 cups of cabbage soup. I finished off the batch I made two days ago. And I think that will conclude this crazy attempt to break the plateau. My weight this morning was 186.6- bringing up my total weight loss to 45 lbs. I am 6.4 lbs away from my first major weight loss goal. It's so close...or is it? Now that I am going back on "regular" eating I wonder how I will do on the scale. Only time will tell.
I had a crazy idea today. I want to be a personal trainer. I love the way I feel and it would be awesome to help others. Since I have a masters degree and experience being a therapist and social worker, personal training would fit right in. I consulted my wife. She was sorta into it. I imagine I need to do some research, maybe even talk to an actual personal trainer. This should be fun!

This is for our children...their children...and their children. This is for our family...this is for us!
Originally, this blog was my wife's, but I stole it since she stopped using it. So, now it will be a place for both of us to write and journal our experiences during this journey of getting healthy. For the both of us its more than just losing weight. Yes, we both want to be thin, but more importantly we want to be around for eachother and our children for a long, long time. We want t show our children that it just isn't okay to treat what He gave us so poorly...
We have stopped making excuses and are ready to face the challenge...are you?
