Today was our "off" day from the gym. I woke up with the kids (they let me sleep in until 7:30) and got them some breakfast. I ate pb2 lined bowl with cold oats. Anyhow, I got going early to finish the garden- went over to the store and got tomatoes, peppers, basil, thyme and parsley. Spent the morning with my oldest daughter, DJ, separating the starts and laying out the garden. I finished up around 1 and then it was time to clean up the inside of our house. There was a party at our house tonight for our nephew.
We had kids running every where, dogs barking in the back and some pretty good adult conversation. Jessica's sister brought pizza for dinner, including a thin crust pizza from Papa Murphy's. I had two small pieces of that and a big spinach salad with veggies and fat free Italian dressing. It was delicious! I also drank about 12 glasses of water and had to pee every 3 seconds. It was awesome. Then it was cake time. I already told myself I could have a small piece and I did eat one small piece. It was so good. I had a little and wanted the entire thing. I'm starting to notice when I have a little but of a sweet, my cravings go wild and I want to eat every sweet thing in sight.
I also took my weight after putting the girls down for bed- I was shocked! 193! What? The scale said 186 this morning. How the hell does a person gain 6 lbs in one f'ing day?! I only ate about 1600 calories today. Jessica's theory: cabbage soup diet is bad. Very bad. It certainly does seem to have helped me. All of those days of suffering, uh, for nothing. Lesson learned.

This is for our children...their children...and their children. This is for our family...this is for us!
Originally, this blog was my wife's, but I stole it since she stopped using it. So, now it will be a place for both of us to write and journal our experiences during this journey of getting healthy. For the both of us its more than just losing weight. Yes, we both want to be thin, but more importantly we want to be around for eachother and our children for a long, long time. We want t show our children that it just isn't okay to treat what He gave us so poorly...
We have stopped making excuses and are ready to face the challenge...are you?
