This is for our children...their children...and their children. This is for our family...this is for us!
Originally, this blog was my wife's, but I stole it since she stopped using it. So, now it will be a place for both of us to write and journal our experiences during this journey of getting healthy. For the both of us its more than just losing weight. Yes, we both want to be thin, but more importantly we want to be around for eachother and our children for a long, long time. We want t show our children that it just isn't okay to treat what He gave us so poorly...
We have stopped making excuses and are ready to face the challenge...are you?

Preparing for the Weekend at Grandma's
I'm excited for dinner tonight- lean pork loin and roasted baby red potatoes. Yum. I'm hungry today. I made an egg white omelet with turkey bacon and spinach for breakfast, for snack a banana, lunch was left over fajitas and a protein shake (big mistake), after work out snack was a Think Thin bar (again love these bars). The protein shake was a big mistake because we ran out of the premier shakes from Costco, so I made my own with cow milk, pb2 and protein powder. The problem was the milk. I really should have known better since I haven't been eating very much dairy and then I went and drank 8oz of milk. Silly me.
Anyhow, we are going to be spending this evening getting ready to leave for grandma's tomorrow afternoon. Usually we only spend one night but we are celebrating Mother's day early so we are staying 2 nights. Going to make my mom dinner on Friday and Saturday night and also make brunch for her and my grandma on Sunday. Hopefully we will get a visit in with my dad and Jane (Grandma and Grandpa). Oh, and we are going to my cousin's birthday party on Saturday- she is turning 11 (same age as my oldest daughter!)
I am already trying to figure out how I am going get my work out in on Saturday. Maybe, if it's actually nice outside I will hit the pavement- perhaps I will even convince my 16 year old brother to come and run with me. Last time I was down there he ran a mile with me- he is a skinny little thing who is trying to bulk up a bit, so maybe we can do some weights too. (I might even try to convince him to write something here on the blog about something- he's 16 so it will be interesting!)
Oh, it's dinner time.
