This day was pretty uneventful. Jessica had the day off and I headed out the door about 7:25am to get to the gym and get my workout on. According to the Kris Grethin training program today is a rest day- pshhh- I don't think so. I get one rest day a week and that's Sunday. Instead I did 45 minutes on the stairstepper and 15 minutes on the elliptical. Jessica loves the eliptical but I have decided I am not the biggest fan. I didn't even start sweating until 10 minutes in with incline of 10 and resistance of 10. I guess I just don't feel the burn. The stairstepper is a whole other bag of worms. I was dripping sweat within 5 minutes and my heart rate was around 135-145 for the entire 45 minutes. I didn't do any strength training at the gym but plan on doing 3 reps of each of the following: sit ups (15), leg raises (15), heel taps (20) and side crunches (10).
This weeks lunches and mid-day snacks are Swai with brown rice and Chicken with sweet potatoes and broccoli. If I eat the same thing everyday it just makes it easier. It is a little repetitive but sometimes simple is better. Plus, when I am getting everything ready on Sunday and Wednesday it makes my life a LOT easier! Tomorrow is Devanne's last game so I bet I will need to prep the rest of the weeks food tonight. We will see if I get around to it tonight.
Dinner was soooo good tonight- stuffed chicken breast with cheese and jalapenos. About 350 calories for 2 pieces plus a large salad. I wanted to eat my two and then more. But I didn't. The kids did not like them so Jessica made them eggs because they didn't really have a lot of protein today.
On a different note: I applied for a job at the aquatic center- to be a fitness instructor. They have 3 levels. The basic level is just about giving facility tours, orientation to equipment and general ideas on how to structure a workout. I don't have to have a personal training certificate, but I did put down that I was studying and will be taking the exam by 8/2012. So I gave myself a deadline. It shall be done by then. Fingers crossed I get a call. I applied for evening and weekend shifts since I love my job and this is just something to do on the side. Wish me luck!

This is for our children...their children...and their children. This is for our family...this is for us!
Originally, this blog was my wife's, but I stole it since she stopped using it. So, now it will be a place for both of us to write and journal our experiences during this journey of getting healthy. For the both of us its more than just losing weight. Yes, we both want to be thin, but more importantly we want to be around for eachother and our children for a long, long time. We want t show our children that it just isn't okay to treat what He gave us so poorly...
We have stopped making excuses and are ready to face the challenge...are you?
