This is for our children...their children...and their children. This is for our family...this is for us!
Originally, this blog was my wife's, but I stole it since she stopped using it. So, now it will be a place for both of us to write and journal our experiences during this journey of getting healthy. For the both of us its more than just losing weight. Yes, we both want to be thin, but more importantly we want to be around for eachother and our children for a long, long time. We want t show our children that it just isn't okay to treat what He gave us so poorly...
We have stopped making excuses and are ready to face the challenge...are you?

Wow! It's Been Too Long---Update

Wow. Really, I am sucking at this right now. *Right hand raised* I sware to stop slacking on the blog. Lets just get a quick run down. Friday, June 8,  consisted of my workout 2 miles, shoulder and bicep workout, plus 20 minutes of rowing. Saturday morning I got going a bit late and only completed 4.9 miles of my scheduled 7 before we had to head off to Devanne's softball game. Went to Devanne's game- she played left field most of the time and caught a fly ball! Yeah DJ! Jessica and I made arrangements for Kim to watch the girls for the evening so we could go to the gym and run a few errands. So, it was off to the gym. I ran 4 more miles and then completed an intense leg workout. We came home, put the girls to bed and then watched This Means War. I didn't like the movie but Jessica and Kim enjoyed the eye candy on the screen. Sunday was a rest day. Jessica and I cleaned out our popup tent camper and went over the budget. We have been mulling around the idea of her quiting work to stay home full time with the girls. She has been feeling very guilty about going to work and very overwelmed with work, school, kids, house, Adey's stuff....
Anyhow, we worked it out and it will be tight each month but worth it. It was decided that she would put in her two weeks Monday morning if we work up feeling good about it. I prayed about it. I do think it is the right thing for our family. Jessica is going to do a preschool curriculum with them and our nephew, Marcus, is going to come over for a couple of the weeks during summer. Should be a good time! She did say the one downside would be she would need to get up VERY early to go workout.
Monday (today)- 5 miles.  But I ended up doing 6 grueling miles. But Damn IT! I did it. I am not sure why it felt so darm hard. I also did a crazy chest and tricep workout. I literally could barely steer the car after. Seriously. I was trying to do push ups and managed to go 3 sets of 8, on my 4th set I  literally fell on my face at 7. Devanne had a softball game- Jessica took her to it and I had the babies and the house all to myself. We played and ate chili (thanks babe for the pre-made meal), took baths and sang songs. With the few moments I had before the rest of the crew got home and the kids were asleep I cut my hair and took a shower. Phew. Busy day. Now it's resting with my girl and takin' it easy.
Tomorrow is 40-60 minutes of cardio. According to my schedule from Kris Grethin it's a rest day. But I can't totally rest. I will be doing a modified abs workout and cardio. We'll go from there.
