Ah, Monday. Back to work, back to the swing of things. The scale was very mean to me this morning + 2 pounds = 186.8. I'm not sure if it was because of the length of our hike on Saturday or the heat or both. Sunday I ate pretty good- nothing outrageous, stayed within my calories. I noticed, as did Jessica, that my ankles were very swollen on both Saturday and Sunday. Is this gain due to heat? All I want to know is WTF?? I worked my ARSE off this week- for a gain! Grrr....
This morning I woke up with the girls and got them their breakfast (as usual), made my breakfast and lunch and Devanne's lunch. Jessica got up, got the girls dressed and took them to daycare. Then it was off to the gym for me. My goal is to increase my mileage- I'd like to get up to 10 miles, so this week it will be 5 miles, 5 miles, 2-3 and then 7 miles. I'll do that for a 4 weeks. So, today I did my 5. I was feeling pretty good, but took my pace down a bit (finished in 47 minutes). At this pace I definitely could have kept going, I can actually say I wasn't struggling at any point. Then it was over to the weights to work on my chest and hamstrings. Once I finished my regular sets I went to do push ups and literally fell on my face after 12. My arms would not hold me up. Then it was off to work.
Jessica went to the gym this afternoon- she text me and said the felt like she was dying. Her shins were killing her. She couldn't keep up the week 4 c25k program. We talked a little about it and I think its a good idea for her to take some time off. Way better to play it safe then have her get majorly injured.
More fun news...Jessica and I decided to move up the time table and try for another addition to our family next month. Yep, next month. It all depends on her ovulation. Does she ovulate or does she not? I don't think a daisy will tell me.

Originally, this blog was my wife's, but I stole it since she stopped using it. So, now it will be a place for both of us to write and journal our experiences during this journey of getting healthy. For the both of us its more than just losing weight. Yes, we both want to be thin, but more importantly we want to be around for eachother and our children for a long, long time. We want t show our children that it just isn't okay to treat what He gave us so poorly...
We have stopped making excuses and are ready to face the challenge...are you?
